Remembering Forward is a performance and installation that investigates how memory, movement, and digital mediation inform one another. Developed during an artist residency with Mile Zero Dance, the project features improvised movement alongside audio-reactive visuals created in collaboration with Alyssa Nider (aoide.io), and a soundscape composed of field recordings. The live performance was streamed on Twitch and projected onto the project space windows, later adapted into a two-channel video installation and sculpture.
This work reflects on the fragmentation of the live body as it moves through digital space. The latency, distortion, and residue that result are central to the piece, evoking the idea of remembering forward. Rather than treating memory as something fixed, the work embraces its ability to transform, guiding future perception and possibility through the traces left behind.
